Job Title: PHP Developer • Job Summary We are seeking a PHP Developer to design, build, and maintain high-quality web applications and APIs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and performant solutions using modern PHP practices, contribute to architectural decisions, and help drive engineering excellence across the stack. • Key Responsibilities • Develop, test, and maintain server-side applications and RESTful APIs using PHP 8+ and modern frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony). • Translate product requirements and UX designs into clean, reusable, and well-documented code. • Design and optimize relational database schemas, queries, and indexes (MySQL/PostgreSQL). • Integrate third-party services and internal systems (payment gateways, authentication providers, messaging, analytics). • Implement unit/integration tests and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and reliability. • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues; perform root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures. • Optimize application performance, scalability, and security, following OWASP and best practices. • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and deployment workflows. • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers in an Agile/Scrum environment. • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to engineering standards and best practices. • Mentor junior developers and share knowledge through pair programming and technical discussions. • Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. • Proven experience developing production PHP applications (PHP 8+ preferred). • Hands-on experience with a modern PHP framework (Laravel or Symfony). • Strong proficiency with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and query optimization. • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs; familiarity with JSON, OAuth/JWT. • Proficiency with Git, Composer, and dependency management. • Experience with testing frameworks (PHPUnit, Pest) and code quality tools. • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins). • Understanding of web security fundamentals and common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10). • Experience with caching and messaging (Redis, Memcached, RabbitMQ/Kafka) is a plus. -
